New Delhi, Mar 12 (CNN-IBN): New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reacted sharply to Rahul Gandhi's remarks comparing its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
BJP leader Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said that if Hitler had any descendants in India, they would be in the Congress.
"Calling Modi Hitler is like abusing him. If anyone in this country has acted like Hitler, it was his (Rahul's) grandmother Indira Gandhi and no one else. Only Congress has acted like Hitler," he said.
Rahul on Tuesday had launched a blistering attack on Modi at his home turf comparing him to Hitler and accusing his government of "stealing" farmers' land at the behest of corporates.
"Then there is another kind of leader, whose best example is perhaps Hitler. Hitler thought there was no need to go to people. He believed entire knowledge of the world is only in his mind. That kind of leader only talks that he did this and that. That leader does not require going to people," he said without naming anybody.
