Jharkhand policemen injured while defusing landmine


Ranchi, March 13 (IANS): Five security personnel were injured while they were defusing a landmine in Jharkhand's Chatra district Thursday, police said.

The landmine was found during a search operation near Chak village in the district, around 145 km from Ranchi.

The five security personnel injured include an official of additional superintendent of police rank.

Two of them were airlifted to Ranchi for treatment.

Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 22 districts in the state.
