Mangalore, Jun 4: The future of the Kudroli slaughterhouse is still undecided. After the management imbroglio, it’s the pollution control which has made matters uncertain.

The abattoir which was functioning on a temporary licence from the pollution control board has reached the end of the two-month license period. In view of the termination of the licence on June 6, the pollution control board has sent a reminder to the Mangalore City Corporation.

The abattoir was ordered to cease operations citing to hygiene and pollution shortfalls. However MCC asked for a temporary licence of two months which will expire on June 6.

The MCC has sought permission to run the abattoir for a period of one year until the new abattoir proposed under the KUIDFC project at Kannur will be constructed.
