Hubli, Jun 5: Six workers, belonging both to the Congress and JD (Secular) were injured, two of them seriously, in clash between the two groups at Nagavi village in Gadag district of Karnataka on Sunday.
The trouble started around 1130 hrs after polling of votes in the by-election to the village panchayat began, leading to tension in the village.
Police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the two groups and bring the situation under control.
The seriously injured were admitted to the district hospital.
Additional police personnel were deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incident.
