Udupi, Jun 5: In order to develop primary education in the State, the government has reserved a sum of Rs 5,000, said Medical Education and district in-charge Minister V S Acharya.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Government Pre-University College at Tenkanidiyoor here on Sunday June 4.

The State Government will give utmost priority to the development of core sectors such as health and education in the state, he added.

Further, the minister also promised Rs 2.5 lac from the Local Area Development Fund for the construction of a building for the Government PU College at Tenkanidiyoor.

MLA K Raghupati Bhat presided over the function. Udupi Zilla Panchayat member Janardhan Tonse and president of the Tenkanidiyoor Gram Panchayat Dayananda Shetty, vice president Krishna Shetty and Udupi Urban Development Authority former president Gopalkrishna Shetty were present on the occasion.
