Wilson D'Souza - CODP (GA)

Mangalore, Jun 6: The Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP) with Spandana Trust and Saripalla Abhivradhi Samiti Mangalore conducted workshop on watershed management on Sunday June 4 at the community hall in Pompei Nagar at Saripalla near here.


Fr Oswald Monteiro, deputy director of CODP who presided over the function said that "water is Liquid Gold.".  Population explosion, mismanagement of forest resources, unscientific cultivation methods, and unabated misuse of water resources has compounded the crises situation further.” Only water-shed can avert future shock.”

E I Cyprian D’Souza, president of Saripalla Abhivradhi Samiti, Vittal Shetty, vice-president, Matilda, panchayat member, Usha, panchayat member, Joseph Pinto, resource person from CODP were present.

Members of women’s SHGs and large number of residents of Saripalla and neighbouring areas took active part in this workshop. Prabhavati welcomed and Vittal Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
