Udupi, Jun 6: Even before the police could trace a Salem based jeweller who had gone missing a few days ago, two jewellers from Udyavar near here have now gone missing from Monday June 5.

This has given a new twist to the case.  Earlier Jagannath (54), a jeweller from Salem who had his business contact with the jewellers in the city had gone missing from a lodge in the city from May 20.  Jagannath had come to the city on May 15 and had stayed in the said lodge.  However, he did not return to the lodge after leaving it on May 20.

Jagannath had business transactions in the city for the last many years.  Many jewellers from in and around the city, had business links with him.  Udyavar based Bhakta brothers too were having business links with him.  However, the police had enquired them after Jagannath had gone missing.  It is said that Bhakta brothers had to pay money to Jagannath and they had a rift with Jagannath in this regard.

However, now that the Bhakta brothers too have gone missing, the case has taken an interesting turn.  The city police have formed a separate squad to trace the missing jewellers.
