Mumbai, March 20 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 14.88 points or 0.07 percent down during the pre-noon session Thursday.
Good buying was observed in technology, media and entertainment (TECK) and IT sectors, while selling pressure was observed in capital goods and banking sectors.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,797.61 points, was trading at 21,817.98 points in the pre-noon session, down 14.88 points or 0.07 percent from the previous day's close at 21,832.86 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,853.25 points and a low of 21,727.06 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE IT index gained 162.25 points and TECK index moved up by 79.59 points, while capital goods index dropped by 128.21 points and bankex went down by 87.61 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 11.40 points or 0.17 percent down at 6,512.65 points.
