Udupi, Jun 7: A one year diploma course in theatre study will be offered by the Theatre Study Centre of Bhandarkar’s College, Kundapur, in association with Hampi Kannada University and Drama School of the Regional Resource Centre, Bangalore.

Students will be trained in theoretical and practical features of worldwide theatre, which includes body language, dialogue delivery and performance. They will have to reside in the centre during the course of study.

Dr H Shantharam, honorary director of the centre, informed that for the academic year 2006-07 starting July 30, up to 20 candidates will be taken and the examinations will be held in May 2007.  Also as an introductory offer, the first batch of students will not be charged for the course. The minimum qualification to join the course is SSLC.

Certificate will be given by the Hampi University.

Last date to submit the application is July 5.
