Mangalore, Jun 7: "This is for the fourth time ever since UPA government came to power that petrol prices have been hiked. This is unscientific and it is a burden on the general public," criticized BJP district spokesperson K Monappa Bhandary.

Eversince the UPA government has come to power, the prices of all commodities have sky-rocketed. "Now this hike in petrol has come as another added burden," he added.

He further added that the Left parties are opposing the government decision to gather public support.  If they are really concerned about the poor people, let them withdraw their support to the UPA, said Bhandary.

Bus Owners Association Criticises the Government

The Dakshina Kannada Bus Owners Association has strongly criticized the union government decision to increase petrol and diesel prices.

In a statement, association secretary Aziz Partipady said that the bus owners are hit by the hike.  "In the last two years the diesel price has gone high by Rs 19 which is really a burden to the middle class and poor people of the society.  On the other hand, we, the bus owners are finding it very difficult to handle the transport system.  We are hit from all sides as the prices of rubber and other automobile spare parts too are increasing day-by-day," he opined.
