Slain Indian worker's body flown home

Dubai, March 22 (IANS): The body of the Indian man who was stabbed to death by an Ethiopian housemaid in the Saudi Arabian city of Dammam last month has been flown home, media reported.

Syed Sajid, a native of the south Indian city of Golconda, who had been working with a Saudi family in the eastern Saudi city of Dammam for two years, was murdered Feb 17 by an Ethiopian woman who worked with the same family.

Indian embassy officials and social worker Naaz Vankkam visited the Dammam Central Hospital prior to the body's repatriation Thursday, the Arab News reported Saturday.

Sajid was working as a male nurse to the family for nearly two years. The maid was arrested and subsequently charged with Sajid's murder.

One of Sajid's relatives from India, Mohsin, told the newspaper after receiving the body that he has full trust in the Saudi judicial system.
