New Delhi, April 1 (IANS): Automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Tuesday reported a decline of 1.4 percent in its total sales for 2013-14 at 1,155,041 units from 1,171,434 units sold in the previous fiscal.
According to the company, domestic sales during the year ended March 31, 2014, marginally grew at 0.3 percent at 1,053,689 units from 1,051,046 units in 2012-13.
Exports during the period under review fell by 15.8 percent at 101,352 units from 120,388 units shipped out in 2012-13.
For March, the company's total sales decreased by 5.5 percent at 113,350 units from 119,937 units sold in the corresponding month of 2013.
Domestic sales in the month under review fell by 5.2 percent at 102,269 units from an off-take of 107,890 units reported in March 2013.
Exports during last month fell by eight percent at 11,081 units from 12,047 units shipped out during corresponding month of last year.
Sales in passenger cars segment, which comprises of brands like M800, Alto, A-Star, WagonR, Swift, Estilo, Ritz, Dzire, SX4 and Kizashi, were lower by 6.4 percent at 86,018 units from an off-take of 91,896 in the corresponding month of 2013.
The off-take of utility vehicles like Gypsy, Grand, Vitara and Ertiga inched higher by 0.20 percent at 6,499 units from sales of 6,488 units in March 2013.
However, sales in van segment that includes brands like Omni and Eeco, gained 2.6 percent at 9,752 units from an off-take of 9,506 units in the corresponding month of 2013.
