Washington, April 1 (IANS): That's what hitting the jackpot means. A couple in the US state of Virginia has won top prizes in the state's lottery three times in just one month, the media reported.

Calvin and Zatera Spencer of Portsmouth won two $1 million prizes and a $50,000 within the space of four weeks, The Independent reported Tuesday.

On March 12, the couple won $1 million in the Powerball drawing, matching the first five numbers but missing the Powerball number.

They struck lucky again March 26 when Calvin won $50,000 in the Virginia Lottery's Pick 4 game with 10 tickets that had the same winning combination of 6-6-6-6.

The next day, the couple claimed another prize of $1 million in the scratch-off game $100 Million Cash Extravaganza. Calvin purchased the winning ticket after dropping his wife off to an appointment.

"I’ve been here for 12 years and this is the first time I’ve seen someone win three major prizes within such a short period of time," the Los Angeles Times quoted Virginia Lottery spokesperson John Hagerty as saying.
