Panaji, Jun 12: Education Minister Luizinho Faleiro has said that the government is committed to providing quality education to the students so that they can excel at national competitive exams.

Inaugurating the science stream at Government Higher Secondary School in the presence of Vassudeo Gaonkar MLA at Sanguem on Saturday the Education Minister said the introduction of NCERT Syllabus in Goa will not only immensely help to import quality education but will also help Goan students compete at national and international level.

Faleiro said, he has a vision to make Goa a Knowledge driven society and to achieve it.
 
Faleiro said he has been devoting most of his time for promotion of education and with more emphasis on quality education .

The Education Minister while emphasing the need to empower people hailing from urban and rural areas through education which is the backbone of all round development said that due to non availability of quality education most of the higher post such as Secretaries, Directors and even newspapers editors are occupied by non-Goans and keeping this in view 16 Goans are provided good quality education which will help them hold higher position, he said.

Faleiro explained various schemes in the areas of education and Industries and said there is need to enlighten students about these schemes for its successful implementation and achieve desired results. He assured Government Higher Secondary School Sanguem to provide all the requisite educational facilities and also to set up Industries at Sanguem to generate employment.

Vassudeo Gaonkar, MLA thanked the education Minister for his initiative in starting science stream for Government Higher Secondary School at Sanguem.

Dr Celsa Pinto, Director of Education, Pandu Vassu Naik ex-MLA and Damodar Gavaii, Chairman, PTA also expressed their views on the occasion.

Agnela D’costa Chairperson of Sanguem Municipal Council was present. Earlier, Kunde Principal welcomed, while Apolino Gomes, teacher proposed the vote of thanks.
