Indian expatriate dies in UAE road accident

Abu Dhabi, April 3 (IANS): An Indian businessman died in a road accident near Al Reef on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai road. The whereabouts of the accident victim was not known to his friends and relatives until they identified a dead body in an Abu Dhabi hospital two days later. The deceased's last rites were done in Abu Dhabi in the presence of his friends and family members, who flew in from India.

Lasheen Yousuf (43) died after he lost control of his vehicle on Sunday. The father of two children did not reach home and the worried relatives were able to find out what happened to him only when they found him in the Central Hospital Mortuary on Tuesday, after they had filed a missing person's case with the Abu Dhabi Police.

“On Sunday he picked up his mother who came back to Abu Dhabi airport from India. After dropping her at home and taking his lunch he was on his way to Dubai for a business meeting. From Sunday noon, he could not be contacted and the family was searching for him ever since," said a family friend.

"Lasheen was a public relation specialist with etislat from 2010 to 2011 and thereafter formed his own consultancy service."

A case was filed on Monday and Abu Dhabi Police asked the family members to check a body that they had received from a traffic accident,” said the family friend. He has his own bike and used to love rising it. The reason for the accident is not yet clear.
