Mangalore, Jun 13: The death of Rathan Joseph Pinto which was highlighted by all the media and the bad condition of the road blamed for the fatal accident, seems to have taken a positive turn.
At the high-level meeting of engineers and heads of various departments held on Monday the government servants had to face the music from district in-charge B Nagaraj Shetty. Angered by the bad condition of the roads in the district, Shetty gave firm instructions to attend to road works immediately.
The Public Works Department, Mangalore City Corporation, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the zilla panchayat have been given an ultimatum of 72 hours to attend to all the roads in Dakshina Kannada district.
At the meeting the developments of the four-laning work between Suratkal and BC Road was also discussed. The minister expressed his dissatisfaction on the manner the project was being implemented.
