16 killed in Afghan traffic accident

Kabul, April 8 (IANS): At least 16 people were killed and 20 others injured Tuesday when two buses collided in Afghanistan, sources said.

"The passenger buses collided head-on along a main road in Shahr-i-Safa district along Kabul-Kandahar Highway at around 9.30 a.m. local time, leaving 16 people dead," district Governor Khaliq Ayuobi told Xinhua.

The injured, including a woman, were shifted to a district hospital, he said.
