Five landmines recovered in Jharkhand


Ranchi, April 8 (IANS): Five landmines were recovered from Jharkhand's Lohardagga district during a search operation by the security forces Tuesday and later defused, police said.

The landmines, being used to blow up police vehicles, were recovered from Bohra village in the district, about 80 km from here.

Polling in Lohardagga will be held April 10.

Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts in the state.
