Muscat, Jun 14: Oman Air has sponsored a seminar on music skills, organised by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum and Training, at Al Bustan Palace Hotel.

The opening ceremony of the three-day seminar was held under the auspices of Sayyid Al Mutassim bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, minister of state and governor of Muscat. A number of experts from Oman and countries like Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Kuwait participated in the seminar.

“Being the first of its kind of seminar in the Sultanate to discuss the importance of music skills in forming the pupils’ personalities, the effect of training programmes, difficulties encountered in the musical skills subject, Oman Air evaluated the significance of sponsoring the seminar, its cultural and heritage values, which reflect social peace and contentment, and act as a tool towards honing the skills of Omani children,” said a release issued by the Corporate Communication and Media Department of Oman Air yesterday.

Associating with such seminars ensures Oman Air’s role in highlighting the musical curriculum and traditional music of Oman, it added. The CC and M Department also stressed the need for establishing cooperation between the private and public sector establishments.
