Mumbai, Apr 9: The Kannada department of Mumbai University held their first convocation ceremony at J P Nayak Hall of Kalina Campus at Santacruz east on Saturday morning, April 5.
Senior author and thinker Dr N Mogasale presided over the programme. Senior litterateur and poet V G Nayak, Mangalore had arrived as Chief Guest. Dramatists Subraya Bhat, Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu, columnist Dr K S Sharma, thinker Ravi R Anchan, journalist Dr Sethalaxmi Karkikodi and others were present as guests of honor. They handed over convocation certificates to the students and congratulated them.
Dr G N Upadhya, head of the department of Kannada at the Mumbai University welcomed the gathering and gave a key note address. Dr Poornima S Shetty compered the programme. Dr Jyothi Satish proposed vote of thanks.
