Bendre Sahitya Ratna Award conferred to Dr G V Kulkarni

Mumbai, Apr 9: In a simple programme held by Dr Da Ra Bendre research center, Hubli under the cooperation of Kannada department of Mumbai University at J P Nayak hall of Kalina Campus at Santacruz east on Saturday evening, April 5, the first Bendre Sahitya Ratna Prashasti 2014 was conferred on Dr Gurunath Vittalrao Kulkarni popularly known as Geevi Kulkarni. 

The award was presented by Dr K S Sharma, director of the research center.

Dr K S Sharma in his introductory speech said that the award is handed over in recognition of the contribution of Geevi Kulkarni in the field of literature.

Dr G N Upadhya, head of the department of Kannada in Mumbai University, Senior litterateur and thinker Dr N Mogasale, senior poet and litterateur V G Nayak, Mangalore, dramatist Subraya Bhat, Karnataka Sangha Mumbai vice president Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu, columnist and thinker Ravi R Anchan, journalist Dr Seethalaxmi Karkikodi, Dr Poornima S Shetty, comedian Shamala Prakash and others present on the occasion congratulated Geevi Kulkarni.
