Bangalore, Jun 14: The Karnataka Government will distribute awards to 82 people who have excelled in the field of agriculture on June 22, agriculture minister Bandeppa Kashempur said on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters here, he said chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa would distribute the awards for the last three years at a function to be held here.

Kashempur said he held a meeting of Agriculture Committee today and passed a resolution to compulsorily hold such meetings every three months. Such a Committee was formed three years ago to respond to the problems faced by farmers, but had held only two meetings, he rued.

He took up the issue of agricultural products and remunerative prices in Tuesday's meeting, he said, adding that the Government would take a decision on its implementation in the next 15 days.
