Monster dad: Mumbai man held for raping 17-yr-old daughter for 6 yrs

Mumbai, April 12 (MD): A man, who allegedly raped his 17-year-old daughter on several occasions over the past six years, was arrested by the RAK Marg police on Thursday.

The incident came to light when the accused came back home on Thursday night in an inebriated state and allegedly forced himself on his child.

An officer from RAK Marg police station said, “He came home drunk and started forcing himself on his minor daughter, but the girl pushed him back. He then got angry and started assaulting her.”

The survivor, who had been threatened into silence, couldn’t endure the series of assaults any more, and finally decided to call the police helpline 100, and informed the control room about the ongoing sexual abuse.

“Immediately after that, the control room informed the RAK Marg police, and a team was dispatched to their house. Both were brought to the police station,” the officer said.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had been raping the teenager for the last six years. He allegedly also told her that he’d slash her throat if she spoke of it to anyone.

“Her father would keep threatening her that if she discussed the incident with anyone, then he would kill her with a knife. So the scared girl didn’t tell anyone. But on Thursday, she decided to call up the police control room at 10.30 pm,” the officer said.

The accused was booked under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced in the Sewri court yesterday and has been remanded in police custody.

Cops said the survivor lived with a younger sister and younger brother. Her mother passed away in the year 2010. It is still not known whether her mother or any of the family members were aware of the horror she was subject to.
