Iman Ahmed's hand-printed range a treat for fabric lovers

Lahore, April 13 (IANS): Acclaimed Pakistani designer Iman Ahmed presented a collection consisting of hand-printed and hand-dyed pieces at the ongoing PFDC (Pakistan Fashion Design Council) Sunsilk Fashion Week 2014. Each costume had a luxurious appearance.

"My collection is a mix of pure style and modern essentials that combines beauty with university. Made from 100 percent finest natural silks and cottons, that has been tastefully embellished, hand printed, hand dyed, treated and washed to render its casual chic," Ahmed shared on her design philosophy.

Ahmed, who has a label called Body Focus Museum, has named her spring-summer 2014 collection as Sartorial Philology and Deconstruction.

For this collection, she took inspiration from the phrase "seeking perfection in imperfection" and has incorporated multicultural-influences while keeping the overall mood quintessentially contemporary.

From ethnic kurtas to free flowing gowns and dresses, there was everything for everyone. The high point of the line was the use of accessories. Silver neck pieces and head bands gave that uber sophisticated look to the entire range.

"The collection can be worn anywhere without feeling out of place," said the designer.

The Body Focus Museum was launched by Ahmad in 1988 with a focus on contemporary elegance. The brand is coveted for its universality and functionality combined with the fine tailoring and defined silhouettes.
