Mangalore, Jun 17: One Mohammed Mustafa (25), whom the police have arrested in connection with pelting of stones on Kalpana Sweets on Tuesday June 13, has filed a complaint on the Anti Rowdy Squad inspector Vinay Goankar, ASI Narayana Byndoor, H C Chandappa, Bunder police station ASI and six other police constables, for assaulting him.

Mohammed is presently in the hospital.

Copies of the complaint have been sent to state police chief, chief minister and human rights commission.

Mohammed a cloth vendor, was returning home after purchasing cloth from a wholesale shop. At the time of the incident, Mohammed also ran with other people not knowing what was happening. The police mistook him to be one of the persons to be involved in the pelting and thus had arrested him, in spite of Mohammed telling them that he was innocent.

Now Mohammad has stated that the police assaulted him during the enquiry.
