Protest outside Subramanian Swamy's house

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS): Congress workers Tuesday staged a protest outside BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's house demanding an "unconditional apology" for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders.

The protest led by Delhi Congress leaders Haroon Yusuf and Mukesh Sharma was organised outside Swamy's house in south Delhi's Nizamuddin area.

"The protesters broke barricades and clashed with police when they were stopped from going towards Swamy's residence. Police had put barricades 50 metres from Swamy's house. We have to use mild force to disperse the protesters," a police officer said.

Sharma said Swamy has been making "offensive and objectionable" statements against the Congress's senior leadership for the past one month.

"We condemn his derogatory remarks and demand an unconditional apology immediately," Yusuf told the media.
