Indian teacher drowned off Salmiya beach

Kuwait: 18 June: Madhusood, a 31-year0old Indian teacher, was drowned off Salmiya beach on Friday. Wife Reshmi and one-and-half year-old son Madhav survive him. Madhusood and five of his colleagues were swimming in the sea close to the Pizza Hut, Salmiya, when tragedy struck.

Another teacher, Prashant, who was admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabeer hospital in critical condition, is said to be out of danger now. Other who survived the mishap with the help of police said they had had a miraculous escape from death. They were bathing in shallow water, close to the shore, but a sudden wave swept them away, they said.

Lovesick' Indian gets death for willful murder of compatriot girl

Kuwait- 18 June: Criminal court presided by Judge Al-Atiqi, Saturday sentenced an Indian man, and identified as Smokat, to death for the premeditated murder of his female compatriot, Jamona. The court then ordered the case papers to be referred to the court of appeals within one month.

Case papers indicate on December 13, 2005, the accused murdered his paramour after having sex with her in her sponsor's home because his cousin had refused his marriage proposal to her.

According to the man's confessions, eh said they had agreed to end their lives. First he was to kill her and then kill himself because they could not marry. The man said on the day of the incident, he had sex with the victim and strangled her to death according to their agreement.
