Bangalore, Apr 16: The XVII annual convocation of St Joseph’s College of Business Administration (SJCBA), was held on Saturday April 12 at the St Joseph’s Boys High School auditorium, Museum Road, Bangalore at 3 pm.
SJCBA celebrated the passing out of the 17th batch of PGDM students. The convocation ceremony was graced with the presence of the bishop elect, diocese of Shimogaand Msgr Francis Serrao as the chief guest of honour.
The ceremony was attended by the parents and well-wishers of 118 students who successfully completed the two year full time PGDM program from SJCBA. The faculty and staff of the college were also present for the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the reading of the scriptures by the students, followed by the welcome address by Dr Rashmi Nakra, faculty of HR.
The chief guest of honour Msgr Francis Serrao gave away the awards to the academic toppers and encouraged the students to aim high and achieve personal and nationwide development. He further congratulated the college for its efforts and encouraged the institution to grow to become an institution that helps build effective managers and administrators for the country.
The students shared their thoughts and described how the education at SJCBA impacted them positively; both as budding managers and responsible ethical individuals.
Dr Stany D’ Souza, with his humor and anecdotes filled the presidential address reminding the students about their relationship with the St Joseph family and insisted on them being ambassadors of the college by upholding the jesuit ideals of competence, compassion and commitment which is summarized in the college motto ‘Faith and Toil.’
The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks and the batch photographs.
