Mangalore, Jun 19: Deputy Commissioner H V Parshwanath on Sunday said that he Scouts Bhavan at Pilikula will be completed soon. With over 29,000 students participating in various activities of scouts and guides, the much require building will be readied in two months.
The building is being erected to mark the platinum jubilee celebrations of the scout and guide movement in the district. The building work taken up at a cost of nearly Rs 70 lac was equipped to meet all training needs and would be completed soon, he said. However Rs 50 lac worth work has already been done on the building, he said
The DC handed over the ‘Tritiya Sopan’ certificates to Scouts and Guides at a function here on Sunday at the DC’s Bunglow.
Lauding the movement, Parshwanath said that it was vital in moulding the students and making them responsible citizens of India.

Total of 318 Scouts and Guides from the region were honoured with ‘Tritiya Sopan’ certificates this year, while 330 Cubs and Bulbuls were given ‘Tritiya Charan’, and ‘Suvarna Pankh’ certificates, respectively.
Irene D Kunha, District Commissioner for Guides and Bharat Scouts and Guides chief patron K R Shetty were also present on the occasion.
