Cong attacks Modi, Ramdev on black money issue

New Delhi, Apr 18 (PTI): After releasing a three-year-old CD of Uma Bharti attacking Narendra Modi, Congress today latched on to another video clip featuring yoga guru Ramdev to raise embarrassing questions on the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate's campaign against black money.

Taking the battle to the Modi turf of Gujarat, Union Minister Kapil Sibal alleged that Gujarat records an annual turnover of Rs 30,000 crore from illicit liquor trade, which, he alleged, was one of the three prime sources of black money generation in the country.

"Hindutva does not sell as much as liquor in Gujarat. Liquor sells more than Hindutva in Gujarat. There is no other product, which sells so fast and without any advertisement in Gujarat other than liquor. Modi knows about it and so do his colleagues," Sibal told reporters here.

He asked the Gujarat Chief Minister whether he would set up a special fast-track court to "investigate the generation of black money" in Gujarat "including yourself".

Noting that land and liquor generate huge sums of black money in Gujarat, Sibal also referred to a speech of Modi in which he had said that the black money is an outcome of "black minds" and asked, "Whose Mind Mr Modi? Yours? Baba Ramdev's or Mahant Chandnath's?"

Congress also raised the issue of allotment of land to industrialist Gautam Adani in Guajrat at "throwaway" prices.

Quoting a weekly news magazine, Sibal said that 41,62,36,924 square feet of land was allotted to the Adani group for the Mundra port at a price ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 32 per square metre.

He also alleged that Adani also sublet a large portion of the land he was given to other companies at a rate of Rs 663 per square metre. "Isn't this coruption?".

At its daily briefing at the AICC headquarters, the party also showed a video clip in which Ramdev was caught on camera purportedly discussing some money transaction with BJP's Lok Sabha candidate in Alwar, Mahant Chandnath.

In the video recorded just before a press conference, Chandnath is heard telling the yoga guru about trouble that is faced while bringing money from somewhere. Ramdev is heard stopping him from speaking further as cameras are on.

"Modi and L K Advani talk big about unearthing black money. Will now BJP withdraw ticket of the party candidate from Alwar and seek action against him as well as against Ramdev. This double face is now being exposed whether it is of Modi or Ramdev. He (Modi) is attacking the Congress government but he is himself engaged in looting Gujarat ," Sibal alleged.

Replying to questions, Sibal suggested that the UPA has been unduly attacked by the media on the issue of corruption when there has not been a case against a single Congress minister in any scam, including the coal block allocation issue

This is a show off and a last attempt publicity seeking mercy/sympathy from "Voters" of this country.

Just a few days back he said won't say sorry for Gujarat Riots but ready to be get hanged in the street if found guilty!!!

That was a "Very Good Attempt" to "Appease the Voters" on 16th April because on the next day on 17th April 121 constituencies were going for polls. Well "Planned and Timed Out strategy"

Now planning for 24th April with one more "Fresh Googly" to "Appease/Sympathize the Voters again !!!

I am loving it Mr. Modi's Marketing Strategy. (P.R Agency ka paisa vasool)

Lekin Haar Gaya Toh... P.R Agency ko Payment(paisa) naheen melne wala hi. Discount Offer Karna Padega!!!

Ketlo Takka!!!Amit Shah ko hi sauda karna hoga!!!

Do you thing the Gold Ornaments in Temple is your Ancestral property ? & make a loose talk. It is safeguarded & preserved since ages by Travancore Royal Palace, as they consider it as Lord Anantha Padmanabha's wealth. If they had wished they could have devoverd it long back...& they are fighting to preserve it & that too in Temple itself. Just a week back I had visited the Temple & seen the Security. Some people like you, who have never been there speak blah..blah.... If so interested just make a visit to the temple & see it personally as how it is secured. Don't dream like Alice in Wonderland.

    Mr.Mohandas,
Read todays Times of India, You will come to know. When Government of India unearthed the hidden gold, they should have made the proper arrangement to safeguard the Gold..Now the gold is vanishing from there... it looks as if the administration and the vested interests have hands in gloves.
For your kind information, if it was my ancestor's property I would have safeguarded it better than how they are taking care now...!

Coming to the crucial 6th phase of elections, it is clearly evident that Congress has run out of ammunation to counter Modi & BJP & hence are using inferior & trivial issues to just gain media publicity. But all of this is going to be a total waste - remember what happened to the Press conference called by 6 leading women activists of Congress to allege that snooping was conducted & that issue died a natural death...same way this too shall pass & 16th of May, there would be new sunrise that would take all of us Indians to prosperity, good health & wealth & usher in a new vibrant India!

    Chor Machaye Shor.
Which means whenever there is any theft in the neighborhood it is the thief who shouts too much to show to the people that he is more worried than others. The same thing is with Winking Baba Ramdev. He is having too much black money, so he is only shouting too much about bring back black money. He is the biggest financier of BJP.

Gujarat has Prohibition since Independence. In 1960 a separate Gujarat State was formed and as this State is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhiji Prohibition was continued there till today even though other neighboring states and Union Territories withdrew Prohibition. Since then Gujarat Politicians and Police are minting money through the illicit liquor trade . Liquor is available in every nook and corner of Gujarat and instant Home delivery is available just on a phone call. This is another face of Mahatmaji's Gujarat. What Sibbal said is true.

This is all a farce now for him to become PM by hook or crook. Congress should have exposed them with these facts long time. People dont no the real truth of gujarat. Log on to www.truthofgujarat.com and see for yourselves. Open your eyes. Look at the crores of black money spent on press, media. Congress tho the ruling party has not compaigned 1/3 of BJP.

    67 years after independence.
China opend their economy and markets in 1970s and today they are the TOP economies.
and in India we are still fighting for power-seats and money!
    Where are we heading?
what is the future of our generations to come?
Should our generation s pick POLITICS as their profession to make money or the art of serving people ?
if one wants to serve the nation and its people then why this money FACTOR- to make more ..and then?
therefore if Indians are poor and the roads are no good ,govt run..hospitals-schools -airlines-name it any office name it are all JUGAAD...who cares ?
see the quality so poor, when can we improve?
see the court houses...see their ROOFS -SEATS...?
no one is bothered rather than asking or giving their price quote...
this has to come to a full stop and change the entire Governance ...meanwhile make every Indian a ,ADANI-AMBANI?
Let every Indian be a businessman...and prosper-the world is large and space for all..
    look beyond...
