Puttur, Jun 19: The news which were circulating around the taluk that country-made pistols and revolvers are being made available in the taluk were proved when the town police arrested two persons while trying to sell pistol here on Sunday June 18.

Satish Achari, a resident of Mangalpadav near Vittal in Bantwal taluk and Mohan, resident of Panemangalore were arrested at Manjalpadpu near here.  Satish Achari had brought the pistol to sell to Mohan.  The deal had already been finalized as Mohan had agreed to buy the pistol for Rs 1 lac.

But before the pistol could be handed over to him, the police led by town SI Manjunath Shetty arrested them red-handed.  The police also seized bullets from the accused.

The initial enquiry then revealed that Satish is a repairer of guns and pistols.  However, the police are trying to get know about his contacts and his dealings.
