Melwyn Pernal for Daijiworld News Network - Udupi (GA)

Udupi, June 19: The first six months of the year have already gone by but the Catholic youth in the district are starting a new year.  After the election of new committees and office bearers, the youth are organizing programmes with enthusiasm.

“Job Orientation Programme” was organized by ICYM, Attur unit for the youngsters at Souharda Bhavan on Sunday June 18. The program was presided over by new parish priest Fr Arthur Pereira.  Vinod Gangolli was the resource person on the occasion.

ICYM Attur animator Cyril Pinto, ICYM president Melwyn Castelino, secretary Denzil D’Sa were also present on the dais.

About 50 youth from the parish participated actively in the programme.  Reema Noronha compered the programme.


Parish Level Youth Conference at Christ the King Church:

A parish level youth conference was held at Christ the King Church here on Sunday June 18.  The conference was inaugurated by Fr Melwyn D'Souza, assistant parish priest.  Addressing the gathering he said, "Youth are the backbone of the society.  But they will bloom only when they are properly encouraged and guided."

Cyprian Monteiro, BEO, Moodbidri addressed the youth and exhorted them with some useful tips.

Joachim Pinto and Elsie D'Souza too were present on the dais.  ICYM President Alvira D’Souza welcomed and secretary Renita Pais proposed vote of thanks. Jennifer Tellis compered the program.

Earlier Wilson, Shirva led the ice-breaking session. Geo D'Silva, Agrar was the resource person on the occasion.

'Yuva Sambhram' Held at Moodubelle:

"Yuva Sambhram", the annual programme of ICYM unit of Moodbelle was organized on Sunday June 18.  The programme was inaugurated by parish priest Fr Valerian D'Souza.  College principal Fr Paul Sequeira was the chief guest of the programme.  Parish council vice president Henry Fernandes was also present on the dais.

ICYM president Maxim D'Sa welcomed the gathering while Jason Miranda compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya parishat member Vincent Alva, who was the resource person, delivered a talk on “Youth with a difference”.
