FIR against Giriraj for Modi-Pak remark, BJP pulls him up

Ranchi, Apr 20 (PTI) : An FIR was filed against Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh by Jharkand police today over his inflammatory remark that those opposing Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan for which he was also pulled up by the party leadership.

Giriraj, who is a Lok Sabha candidate from Nawada, however, remained unfazed and stood by his controversial comment that has been condemned by rival parties as violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Deoghar SDM Jay Jyoti Samanta, who is also the deputy Returning Officer, said an FIR has been registered against Giriraj under several IPC sections and the Representation of People's Act, 1951.

Deoghar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Bansal said the FIR was filed at the Mohanpur police station on the directions of Samanta.

Former BJP President Nitin Gadkari and its Godda Lok Sabha candidate Nishikant Dubey were also present on the stage during the poll rally at Mohanpur yesterday when Giriraj made the controversial comments.

Quoting the CD of Giriraj’s speech, Samanta mentioned that he had said that those who oppose the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate have a place in Pakistan and not in India, which promotes enmity.

The Bihar Preservation And Improvement of Animals Act was also invoked in the FIR for Giriraj's remark that the Centre gave subsidy to those who exported beef and taxed those who reared cows.

Congress and JD(U) also complained to Election Commission and demanded criminal action against him.

Distancing itself from Singh's remark, BJP sought to undo the damage with president Rajnath Singh saying the party believes in the politics of "justice and humanity" and taking everybody along.

Party sources said Giriraj has been conveyed the party's displeasure over his statement and asked to refrain from stoking any further row.

The comment had left BJP red-faced besides inviting sharp criticism from rival parties who said his comments were directed at Muslims.

In an apparent disapproval of the former Bihar minister's comments, Rajnath said, "BJP believes in the politics of justice and humanity and taking everybody along".

Senior Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi termed the statement "irresponsible" and said the party does not approve of it. "BJP doesn't approve of irresponsible statement given by Giriraj Singh," he tweeted.

"I stand by my statement that those trying their best to stop Modi from coming to power have no place in India and should go to Pakistan whose interests these Modi-baiters have sought to espouse by opposing him in the polls," Giriraj told PTI in Patna.

If Giriraj has his way, then at least 50% of India's population will go to Pakistan.
I guess every party has its share of "jokers" who end up damaging the image of the party more than embellishing it.
Seems like a dictator is coming to power.

These people like Giriraj and Togadia are all Advani and Sushma swaraj supporters, and on the pretext of publicly supporting Modi, secretly wish for his downfall by making belligerent and vitriolic statements. Modi has more enemies inside his own party than on the outside.

Prepare for more of this. Extremist, fanatic, fascist and fundamentalist elements of a group will be emboldened to show their fangs and make such inciting and venomous statements, creating an atmosphere of communal tension which could very easily lead to violent acts or even communal riots.

If Modi should ever occupy the PM's chair expect this.

Wait till the elections are over throughout India or for the day election results are announced and you will then see fringe fanatic groups in DK, Udupi starting to show their canines should the results favour their choice.

The divisive persona of Modi is clearly reflect among his followers/admirers. The nationalist image of BJP is impaired significantly since Modi entered into national political space.
B'coz of Godse - BJP/Jansangh couldn't occupy the national political space for the next 50 years.
B'coz of Babri Masjid demolision BJP couldn't rule india for the next 7-8 years &
B'coz of 2002 Guj Riots they couldn't rule for the next 10 years
Now if they come to power (which is likly in all probability) under the leader ship of Modi.., Mark my words ..., BJP will rule for another 2 years & damage the indian secular fabric beyond repair and BJP will not come to power for at least 20-30 years and it is going to be AAP vs UPA.

By media reports what has been happening within BJP from last one year, and the displeasure of senior BJP leaders the way Mr. Modi was crowned to PM candidate,is more of BJP internal party politics.
Obviously, Mr. Sing was referring to Mr. Advani, who has birth roots in Pakistan and immigrated to India as refugee status during partition. Sadly, many Hindus and Sindhis were unwilling victims of 1947 INDO-PAK division. As Mr. Advani carried out few displeasure acts within the BJP, it is oblivious, he is giving a warning to Mr. Advani.
The track record of refugee immigration in both the democracies, India and USA are marvelous. In India Farsi community and Sindhi community has given their best to the country, mainly in the fields of Business, Industry, Education, Family etc. In USA, from last 200 years European, Cuban, Soviet Block to East Indians in recent years have given their best to US governance and economy.
Mr. Giriraj Singh must accept Mr. Advanis role in the party and should know that millions of Indians are with Sindhi community, who immigrated to India as it has been nationally accepted policy.
