Fake cop arrested for cheating youth in Bijapur

Bagalkot, Apr 21: Gyananagowda Siddanagowda Patil, a resident of Varagoda Dinni of Bagalkot district has been arrested in Bijapur for cheating innocent youth by taking lacs of rupees from them with a view to provide them a police job.
 
He was reportedly cheating the youth by showing them fake photos in a police uniform and introducing himself as a police officer; sources say that he told people he had contacts with higher police officials via Facebook and direct contacts. He used to send a fake appointment order with a duplicate police seal, to all those who sent him money. Various cases have been booked against this culprit in different police stations.
 
Patil had already been in jail for almost seven years in a kidnapping case of a girl who is Devara Hipparagi MLA A S Patil’s brother’s daughter.
