Rome, April 22 (IANS): Fabio Capello has said that he plans to retire from football after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The current Russia head coach, who is preparing for the Brazil World Cup this summer, confirmed that he will not take any offers after his contract expires in four years, reports Xinhua.
"I will be 71 after the 2018 World Cup," he said Monday.
"And it will be time for me to call it quit."
"This will be my final contract. I'll do what Alex Ferguson did. He left at 72, and I'll be gone a year earlier," he said.
The ex-Italy international won five Serie A titles with AC Milan and Roma, as well as one Champions League, one European Super Cup and four domestic Supercoppas during a 17-year managerial career in Italy.
