Kasargod: Clash between DYFI, BJP activists, four injured

Kasargod, Apr 23: A fight that erupted between DYFI and BJP activists in Bekur Kannatippare in Uppala at 8 pm on Monday, April 21 has caused injuries to four people.

The injured BJP workers identified as Kannatippare resident Pushparaj(38) and Chandra(22) are admitted to Kumble government hospital while DYFI activists Sujesh(19) and Arun(19) are admitted to Kumble district cooperative hospital.

A group had damaged a club of BJP activists two weeks ago. A complaint in this respect was registered at Manjeshwar police station.  It is said that there was pressure on BJP activists to withdraw the complaint.  Meanwhile a group of 25 people is said to have assaulted BJP activists Pushparaj and Chandra.

Sujesh has complained that he was attacked when he stopped Arun and questioned him for his insult against religion.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case and are investigating.
