Three CRPF women troopers die in accident


New Delhi, April 23 (IANS): Three women troopers of the CRPF were killed and 18 injured here Wednesday when their bus overturned after being hit by a speeding truck, an officer said.

The accident occurred near the National Law College in Dwarka in west Delhi at around 6.30 a.m. when the Central Reserve Police Force personnel were going to their camp at Jharoda, also in west Delhi.

A CRPF officer identified the dead as Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramkala, 45, Head Constable Seema, 38, and Head Constable Saroj, 40. All three succumbed to their injuries in a hospital.

The other 18 injured troopers were stated to be out of danger. The truck driver fled from the spot. Police have seized the truck.
