Mangalore, Jun 20: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy has scaled great heights in the last one year under its vibrant and ever-enthusiastic president Eric Ozario. Now the Academy is all set to achieve a new milestone.  The academy has initiated a unique project to publish two books containing the selected short stories and poems of the century (1900-2000) written in any script in Konkani (Devanagari, Romi, Kannada, Malayalam and Urdu script.)

The books will be published in Kannada script and it is expected to be of 800-1, 000 pages. Noted Konkani writer, columnist Valley Quadras, Ajekar has been appointed to edit the short stories while well known Konkani poet Melvyn Rodrigues has been appointed to edit the poems.

Each writer will be given 5 copies of the book as royalty. Those who wish to be part of the book may contact us before August 31, 2006.
