AAP's Somnath Bharti assaulted allegedly by BJP workers at Varanasi

Varanadi, Apr 23 (PTI) : AAP leader Somnath Bharti was on Wednesday assaulted allegedly by BJP workers at the Assi ghat when he went there to participate in an election-related programme.

“Somnath Bharti went to Assi ghat for an election-related programme arranged by a channel where BJP supporters took objections to the statements made by him. Although AAP volunteers tried to pacify BJP workers, they assaulted Bharti who suffered minor injuries. They also used abusive language. Two AAP volunteers were also hurt in the melee,” claimed AAP’s Varanasi coordinator Ramanand Rai.

After getting first aid, Mr. Bharti, former Law Minister of Delhi, went to Bhelupur police station to register a complaint.

Mr. Bharti, a former minister in Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP’s 49-day government in Delhi, is in Varanasi to campaign for his party from where Kejriwal is taking on BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Mr. Kejriwal filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.

Mr. Modi is expected to file his nomination papers on Thursday.

This is not the first time when AAP and BJP workers clashed in Varanasi. Last week, AAP activists had an altercation with volunteers of BJP when Mr. Kejriwal’s car was allegedly stopped by BJP workers.

As the election battle hots up, volunteers of both the parties have started gathering in Varanasi to campaign for their respective parties. In the coming days, the temple town may see many such incidents as the supporters keep flooding the temple town, making the atmosphere more volatile.

The Centre on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that it will not take any immediate decision on the appointment of the chairperson and members of the Lokpal, virtually indicating that the decision in this regard might be left to the new government after the general election.
Above is the news in Times of India.
readers... What does Centre Meant: "immediate decision...? Anna Hazare and respected Arvind Kejriwal fought for years for the Lokpaal. and M.P's are still not ready to implement it.
One of the main corruption centre is unfortunately Indian Parliament. People like Sibbbal and Singvi(who caught with sex act with a fellow woman lawyer.)will never allow lokpal to pass in Parliament.
If the lokpaal is enforced, all the parliament will be empty....!

There was a saying,Robers, looters & terrorists are afraid from bright day light. It was a grave bymistake by kejriwal to resign his position of CM. Also there was a reason behind, cause oppositions were afraid of him. Till BJP wins people confidence, by giving low level speaches, hiring people from out stations, whatever mode, i guess they will surely show people BABACHI KA tullu after winning election. Our indians still need to grow up. Look at in karnataka, taxes highly increased by BJP time, high corruption, gundagiri, creating misunderstandings among people for their benifits, they make their own rules, forcably creating mistakes in land property documents(so that all associated gang enjoy benifit to rectify back)& to rectify demanding charges & delay. Roads are made, not followed any standards & may be not even 25%material used. No supervisions on projects. bills are easily approved, & they were afraid if kejriwal comes on power, all devil minds pushed to chambers to rest for peace. This is actual reality story not encourriaging kejriwal in his election campaigns. Iether he ruled out or not, in a little span of time dilhi people got fewer in their spine. THAT IS THE CHANGES he implemented. GOOD LUCK TO aap party.

    Hi Flavian,

You should seriously understand that its not so easy, after the independence india has now emerged as super economic power after US, china. Now as you say Modi is strong , courageous doesn't make any sense here and that neighboring country will be demolished. Even the famous Indira Gandhi didn't care Winston Churchill and attacked Pak. Its not easy to rule a country by crime and war, yes as you said Modi will bring only downfall of India by going against everyone. India now is friendly with every country of the world and world is looking up wit respect while looking at India.Modi cannot fool the world by branding India like Gujarat, actually only the rich has become rich there and middle-class & poor has become more poorer.

There are two possibilities if Modi becomes PM of India.
    1) HITLER type administration and will rule till his death either by assassination or interference by US.
    2) There will be civil war in the country, women will be raped, men will be killed, there will be shortages of food, medicine, diseases will spread because of dead bodies lying around and more like african countries or middle east arab countries.

This may happen only if BJP gets majority.

BJP/RSS/BD all showing their money and muscle power. They should know the voice of people will win at the end and truth prevails. These goons are blessed by their leaders who have the same mindset. It is shameful to call ourselves a democratic , civilized country.

Same thing applies to Congress and BJP also. Their party member make inflammatory speech publicly and then their party leaders trying to hush up the matter. This is nothing but political game. Voters should realize this.

Mr.Kejriwal might have realized by now, why ministers and some top officials required security. One of his agenda was to cancel the security for lawmakers, ministers, etc. Dear AAP, always don't try to go against country's existing system. you will lose forever.

AAP is the director, script writer, producer and actor in all its masala motion pictures these days...no sane person from a political party with the smallest of IQ would ever think of even touching any of the AAP party members, especially when the elections are going on...this strategy of yours of beating yourself up and then crying in public is getting stale...please try something fresh Mr. Kejru.

The thrashing of Somnath Bharti, seems this act was done by AAPtards only to divert attention from Sazia's ultra secular MMS.

BJP has proven yet again that its a party of goons and semi literate lumpen elements.

BJP is filled with goons and thugs...and they have proven it repeatedly right from assassinating Gandhi to babri, godhra, Kandhamal and Mangalore riots.

Their leader feku covertly encorages such brutal attacks and doesn't condemn or refrain its goondas.
