Mangalore, Jun 21: A total of 110 Anganwadis under Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) were given LPG connections on Tuesday, Jun 20. At a programme held in the Town Hall, Mayor K Ashraf distributed gas stoves to the anganwadi workers.
Speaking on the occasion he said assured to discuss the matter of hiking the honorarium to anganwadi workers and helpers. Sites to the proposed anganwadi centers and new buildings to those who do not have their own buildings will also be provided, he added.
The provision of LPG connection has solved the problem of Kerosene supply to anganwadis, Ashraf said.
Vijaylakshmi, president of the Anganwadi Teachers' Association, S H Chaudhary, Joint Commissioner, Mangalore City Corporation, MCC opposition leader Muralidhar Bolar, commissioner P Chandrappa and several corporators were present on the occasion.
