Hyderabad, Apr 24 (PTI) : A senior YSR Congress MLA died on Thursday in a car accident in the wee hours in the Kurnool district. MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy was returning from her election campaign when her car met with an accident.

"It seems the vehicle driver lost control while trying to take a turn as paddy was put on the road," a police officer said.

She was grievously injured and shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad, where her condition was said to be critical. A medical bulletin issued by by the hospital said, "We are sad to inform Shobha Nagi Reddy, who was brought... on April 24 following a major road accident is no more."

Two gunmen and the vehicle driver, who were travelling along with Shobha had also suffered injuries and were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kurnool.

Their condition is out of danger, a police officer said.

The woman legislator is survived by her husband former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy, two daughters and a son.
