Maldives court not to annul election results

Male, April 24 (IANS): The Maldives High Court hearing complaints filed over last month's parliamentary elections has against annulling any of the results.

Twelve out of the 13 cases filed at the high court sought the annulment of the election results of the constituencies concerned.

The court Wednesday ruled that there was no evidence to annul the results of any of those 12 cases, the Haveeru online reported Thursday.

Most of the cases filed consist of complaints over suspected corruption, bribery and manipulation during the March 22 elections.

The Progressive Party of Maldives-led coalition won the March 22 elections.
