Kasargod, April 25: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, member of the CPM Politburo has said, “The Lok Sabha election results will bring about political changes in the district.”
He was speaking at the ceremony of homage to late DYFI leader Bhasker Kumble held at Kumble on Tuesday April 22, which happened to be the death anniversary of the leader.
“The then Chief Minister A K Antony had to resign after losing the elections in 2004. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will be facing a similar situation this year. The left wing will win more than 14 seats,” he said.
“Though the party had won only four seats in 2009, this time the results will be pro left wing. The left wing has tried to stop the Narendra Modi government from coming to power. A secular government will come to power at the center,” he added.
DYFI district president K Rajmohan presided over the programme. O K Vasu too spoke on the occasion.
CPM district secretary K P Satischandran, district working committee member C H Kunhambu, DYFI district secretary K Manikantan and P Raghudevan spoke.
C A Zubair welcomed the gathering.
A procession was taken by the volunteers from Mavinakatte before the conference.
