Pakistan government-Taliban meet likely in two days

Islamabad, April 26 (IANS): Maulana Yousuf Shah, coordinator of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) committee, said Saturday that contact has been established with the shura and a meeting with the Pakistan government is expected to take place in two days' time, a media report said.

Shah said that the shura had asked for two days' time in order to determine a suitable venue for the meeting to take place, Dawn online reported.

Exchange of prisoners, extension of ceasefire and other issues would be the probable topics to be discussed in the meeting, Shah added.

The first round of direct talks between the Pakistan government and the TTP leadership concluded March 26.
