Paris, April 29 (IANS): France is set to host September's Davis Cup semi-final against the Czech Republic on the clay courts of Roland Garros, the French Tennis Federation announced on Monday.
It will be the first time since the 2002 semi-final that Roland Garros will host a Davis Cup. In 2002, France defeated the United States before they lost 3-2 to Russia in the final, also held in Paris, but in the indoors Bercy Stadium.
The Czech Republic led by Thomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek have won the last two Davis Cups, while the last French win in the team event dates back to 2001 when they beat Australia in the final.
The tie will be played Sep 12-14.
