BSP candidate slaps Ramdev with case in Bihar

Patna, April 29 (IANS): Chandradip Ram, BSP candidate from Bihar's Gopalganj constituency, Tuesday filed a case against yoga guru Ramdev for his remarks on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi regarding Dalits.

Ram filed the case in the Gopalganj district and sessions court.

"Ramdev has targeted Dalits and insulted all of us. He deserves jail for it," he said.

Earlier, Bihar minister and JD-U leader Shyam Rajak Monday filed a case against Ramdev.

Rajak slapped the yoga teacher with a case as his statement "Rahul Gandhi visits Dalits' houses for honeymoon..." insulted the downtrodden.

He sought action against Ramdev under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code, the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
