Mangalore, Apr 30: Protests were held at Thokottu on Monday April 28, to decry the murder of Kabeer. Former DYFI state president Sunil Kumar addressed the protesters.
Speaking during the protests he said, “Kabeer’s murder is not confined to the Muslim community alone. It is a matter of love between human beings and hence necessary for everyone to support the protests for justice.”
DYFI Ullal zonal committee in their protests condemned the killing of Kabeer; they urged for handing over the case to the CBI so that justice could be given to the family of late Kabeer.
“ANF has not only killed Kabeer but had also murdered 15 Adivasi Hindus. The ANF is forgetting humanity and is giving rise to communal hatred. The minorities have trusted the secular Congress party and the same Congress government has taken the life of a minority individual at the hands of ANF,” said Sunil Kumar.
He continued, “There is no need of giving up the case with a compensation of Rs five or ten lacs. The compensation should be Rs 30 lacs and the case should be handed over to the CBI.”
He also alleged, “The BJP government had not visited the house of Sowjanya to offer their condolences; hence has no moral right on this issue.”
DYFI Mangalore president B K Imtiaz, former DYFI Ullal zone president Mahabala T Deppalimar, Ullal region president Ashok Shetty Chembugudde, secretary Jeevan Raj Kuthar, Rafiq Harekala, Sunil Thevula and Razak Montepadav were present.
