Kundapur: Luna-Pulsar collide; pillion rider dies

Kundapur, Apr 30: Geetha (40), a resident of Jaladi Grama, died due to injuries sustained when the Luna, a two wheeler in which she was travelling as pillion with her husband, collided with a speeding pulsar bike at Jaladi on Hemmadi-Tallur national highway.





The accident occurred on Monday April 28 morning when the couple was crossing the road on the two wheeler. Though Geetha was rushed to the Manipal hospital with the help of local people, she died without responding to treatment. Geetha’s husband Sheena sustained a fractured leg and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kundapur.

The pulsar rider Jeevan is a resident of Hemmadi Santhoshnagar; he sustained minor injuries. The Kundapur police have registered a case against him.

The couple had attended a cremation ceremony on Sunday of an infant at their relatives place Alur and was returning home on Monday morning.

Sources say that Sheena, a labourer was returning with his wife Geetha to their house at Hoskali. The bike hit their Luna when they were crossing the highway from Jaladi to Hoskali.
