Five new polio cases reported in Pakistan

Islamabad, April 30 (IANS): Five new polio cases have been reported in Pakistan, bringing to 58 the number of children affected this year, a media report said Wednesday.

Four cases were reported from North Waziristan and one from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dawn online reported.

The four affected children in North Waziristan have not received any dose of anti-polio vaccine, the report said. No immunisation has been been conducted in North and South Waziristan since June 2012 due to threats from militant groups.
