NTPC's 50 MW Chhattisgarh solar plant fully operational


New Delhi, April 30 (IANS): State-run power generator NTPC Wednesday declared its 50 MW solar plant at Rajgarh in Chhattisgarh to be fully operational.

In a filing to the BSE, the country's largest power producer said the "balance 20 MW solar unit of Rajgarh Solar PV Power Station is declared on commercial operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs of April 30, 2014".

"With this, the capacity of Rajgarh Solar PV Power Station has become 50 MW and the total capacity of non-conventional energy projects of NTPC Ltd has become 95 MW," it added.

Further, with the commissioning and commercial declaration of the solar unit at Rajgarh, the total commissioned capacity of NTPC group now totals 43,039 MW.

Shares of NTPC closed Wednesday at Rs.116.25, down 1.23 percent, or 1.45 points, compared to its previous close on the BSE.
